This morning was completely uncharacteristic of me.
It started out normal – I got out of bed at 5:45am and went right to the kitchen to have breakfast…
Kashi 7 Whole Grain Puffs topped with organic raw pumpkin seeds, unsweetened almond milk, and cinnamon, and an organic banana on the side.
Yes, I like to pile on my cinnamon. 😉
After breakfast, I started thinking about getting my day started, but then I realized how tired I was, and all I wanted to do was crawl back in bed. Being a Saturday, a figured what the heck? and crawled back in here until 9am.
When I finally got out of bed for the day, I was wide awake and ready to get started on this…
It’s always good to have a few extra hours of sleep! 🙂
It’s a decent Spring day in Madison, so after lunch I was ready to get outside and go for a 4-mile walk. On my way back from my walk, I stopped in the grocery store and bought a few staples.
- Nature’s Path Optimum Blueberry Cinnamon
- Food for Life Brown Rice Tortillas
- Oven Roasted Tofurky
- Veggie Slices
- Chobani 0% Greek yogurt
- Fage 0% Greek yogurt
- Organic bananas
- Organic pears
- Organic carrots
- Organic Raw Gingerade Kombucha
Later this afternoon, I worked on a group project for my Environmental Science class. We had to site an imaginary landfill in Door County, following a specific criteria set by the State to pick out the ideal location, write a cover letter, and fill out a form for submitting our proposal. In class, we have to do a presentation on our landfill site and why we chose it. Of my 3 other group members, only one guy showed up, so we ended up doing the entire thing by ourselves. This really doesn’t bother me since I know that if I’m the one who does it, I’ll make sure I do a good job, but I still think it’s pretty rude for the other guys to just not show up. Either way, we finished within an hour and it feels good to have it done! 🙂
Do you run into the group project problem of group members not showing or just not contributing?
Tonight’s agenda is just some studying and yoga… weekends are the best!

My morning started at 5:45am today – I have a 10-page essay to write for my Intro to Cultures of Asia class, and I wanted to make a good dent on it today.
Breakfast began with a bowl of Kashi 7 Whole Grain Puffs topped with organic raw pumpkin seeds and unsweetened almond milk, with an organic banana on the side.
Of course, coffee was very necessary this morning given 1) my early wake-up call and 2) my sleep-inducing essay to write.
Enter: Starbucks tall pikes place with an inch of steamed soy.
YES! The steamed soy topper returns… I can only live with so much black coffee.
I wanted to get 1/5 of my essay completed this morning, and by 10am I had done just that! I love accomplishing my goals! 🙂
When lunch rolled around, I was in the mood for olives, so I opened up a can I recently bought at Whole Foods to throw in a wrap today.
I used to HATE black olives with a passion when I was little. Then one day I tried them again in chop suey mix my mom made and fell in love. There were times when I actually had my mom buy a large can for me to snack on plain! Although I’m not nearly as inclined to choose them today, I definitely still enjoy the taste!
Lunch ended up being a Food for Life Brown Rice Tortilla topped with Daiya cheddar style shreds, organic greens, and organic black olives. On the side, I had sliced organic cucumbers, activia light, and a glass of unsweetened almond milk.
It’s a little chillier outside today in Madison (about 40*F now), but I’m still heading out for a walk! I’ll take it what I can get!
Happy FRIIIIDAYYYYY everyone!!!
